FAQs

What can I expect when seeing an Osteopath?

On your first consultation, your Osteopath will take you through a thorough case history and examination before explaining clearly findings and their diagnosis for your pain. Often, items of clothing may need to be removed in order to properly examine the problem area. If you feel more comfortable in shorts and/or vest please bring these with you to your appointment. Treatment techniques and how many sessions you may need will also be discussed and any further questions you may have before hands on treatment commences. Our priority is keeping you fully informed and at ease, with practical take home advice to continue your recovery.

What are your COVID-19 clinical protocols?

At The Waterside Practice we take hygiene very seriously and have taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of both our practitioners and anyone attending the clinic. On arrival, temperature is checked and the use of hand sanitiser is encouraged. Mask wearing throughout the practice is required unless exempt and triaging forms are sent as standard before appointments regarding any symptoms of recent illness. All staff take weekly lateral flow tests to ensure any outbreaks are identified, thankfully to date we have had no concerns.

We have a car park located at the side of the practice, alternatively there is ample roadside spaces infront of the clinic entrance. Our entrances and WC are disabled friendly, if you require any extra assistance we are always on hand to help.

Yes of course, just let our reception team know by phone, email or message us and we can easily arrange a call back from one of our friendly practitioners.

Do I have to remove clothing when seeing an Osteopath?

Not if you dont want to, our Osteopaths can work through clothes to examine and treat if necessary.

Some patients choose to wear leggings or shorts and a vest to make it easier for practitioners to assess, others remove just their T-shirt; it really depends on the area and patient preference. But rest assured, our practitioners do their utmost to make you comfortable during sessions.
